kooaba’s innovative mobile image recognition wins with the MobileMonday Demo Night another competition.
Held in conjunction with Mobile Internet World 2008 the yearly MobileMonday Demo Night was carried out today in Munich. The challenge consists of a 5 minute live demo of the product to an audience of industry experts. From the 10 competing finalists kooaba remained as the clear winner.
The jury, consisting of experts from several companies in the mobile space, as well as the public audience chose kooaba’s demo as their clear favourite among the strong competitors. kooaba’s object recognition solution allows to link images and objects in the real world with the mobile Internet.
Dr. Herbert Bay, kooaba’s CEO: “We are delighted to have won this special competition. It confirms that we are on the right track with our innovative technology.”
kooaba’s service simplifies search in the mobile Internet: instead of tedious typing of keywords user will be able to send in images of real world objects taken with the integrated camera of the mobile phone. The object is then recognized and related digital content is returned to the user.
Billboards, images, advertising in print magazines, CD or DVD covers, paintings, buildings or products in the supermarket – real world objects turn into links to the digital world and the mobile phone fullfills the functions of a computer mouse.
Several well known brands such as Cellity, EMI Music Switzerland, EasyJet and Edipresse Groupe are already using kooaba’s innovative mobile marketing solutions.
